Cooking With Breastmilk

Cooking With Breastmilk
Mom and baby cooking with breastmilk

Are you a mommy who has an oversupply but cringes at the thought of wasting any of your milk? Whether you nurse, pump, (or both!), it is inevitably a full-time job and takes a hefty amount of time and work. Rather than tossing milk that’s soon-to-expire or simply have no room for, try cooking with it! It’s a great way to add extra nutrition for your baby as they enter and enjoy their world of solid foods.

I have experimented with several recipes that utilize breastmilk, and I’m going to highlight our family favorites and go-tos. Feel free to click for the full recipes, or simply take the ideas and tailor them to your family’s needs and tastebuds.

Healthy ideas for cooking with breastmilk:

  1. Pumpkin French toast (cut into shapes, sticks, or whole!)
  2. Banana spinach breastmilk smoothies
  3. Oatmeal with cinnamon, breastmilk, and banana (peanut butter/almond butter is great too!)
  4. Creamy Breastmilk Pumpkin Pasta
  5. Pancakes
  6. Breastmilk popsicles! (Plain or with fruit added for fun and color)
  7. Cereal (self-explanatory 🥣)
  8. Vanilla Breastmilk Frosting (yup! For all your favorite cupcakes, muffins, etc.)

Happy cooking!! Your baby will thank you! 🥛
